    About this snood:

Thiis one has a tiny gold thread running through it as well as some lovely tufting.

**** This is sized just a wee bit larger than my normal medium, so if you have a dog on the larger-necked side, this one will probably work nicely.  It's just on the large side of medium, if that makes sence.****

    About my snoods:
For those of you not familiar with my snoods, included are my girls, showing  examples of how snoods should be worn, as well a perfect fit.
You might think your dog will not take to wearing a snood, but once your dog learns to associate a snood with food, putting one on is a piece of cake.  Generally it will only take a day or two to have your dog actually jumping into his snood.

Fit: Your dog's snood should not be tight, but it should not be loose enough where it easily falls off.  My snoods are quite flexible and a size mediium fits most adult cavaliers and cockers that are in good shape.  If your dog is small, or quite young, a small might be your best option.  If your dog is larger,  on the chubby side, or has such full ears and coat that the hair is profuse around the neck, a medium/large will be best.

Design:  Making snoods for Spaniels  has been one of my jobs for over 25 years.  in that time, I have made several design changes as well as fabric changes.  For the past many years i've made snoods that I call the double-bow-tie. They have gathering on both the top and bottom of the snood covered neatly by a tie.  This allows them to be put on easily, and keep the snood, as well as the ears, nice and tidy.

Fabric: All of my snoods (unless otherwise noted) are made of polyester chiffon. Chiffon is is light weight, yet wears very well. Because of it's plain weave and thin fibers, ears do not tend to get warm, or matt, as long as they are not left on too long.   There are, however, different weights of chiffon. Preferences vary, but generally I like a light to medium weight chiffon (understanding all chiffon is considered light weight and flowing). A slightly heavier weight chiffon is preferred by some, especially for people walking their dogs in any kind of brush. For very sensitive dogs, a feather weight is best. Most dogs have absolutely no problem with a medium weight chiffon as the weight of a snood in general is aobut an ounce. .

Care:  Wash and dry time is quick and easy.  Though you can wash and dry by machine on delicate/cold, hand washing is probably best.  Elastic can be weakened by a heated dryer, so be aware.
