Hanging Birdbath

I have featured several hanging Birdbaths at my art event in Brown County Indiana this month..  I just took this one out of the kiln a few days ago, and absolutely love it.  If you are interested, please look an all of the photos, as you will get a better picture of the entire piece and all of its lovely detail.  The first two photos are outside in full sun and the rest have been taken just as I took it out of the kiln, inside my studio.   The colors are pretty amazing.  I've used several colors to achieve this look inside the bowl including two blues, black and ivory.  The bottom of the birdbath is a black and natural glaze wash, much like I use on my dog bowls. I've used a leaf pattern which I have laid into the clay before draping over plaster to form and dry.  I have added the hanging bits to the leather hard clay,  so the bath could be as large as possible, and still fit in my kiln :-).  It's coming on winter in some areas of the country, so if you live in a super cold climate where it freezes frequently, I don't think I would keep it outside all year, but certainly most of the year it should be fine.

The jute hanger with ring will be included, although some of you might want to go with another kind of cord or chain, at your option.

if you love birds, I think you will love this bath.

Approximate size: a bit over 12 inches side to side with an undulating rim.  I would recommend a 15 inch wide hanger to be placed on the house or shepherds hook, near a tall bush for cover, as birds like to feel safe.   It's deep enough, but not too deep, (about 2 inches or so at the deepest part).  Birds prefer shallow, clean water for bathing.    There is plenty of room on the sides for birds to perch.  All in all I'm more than happy with this bowl.  I hope you are too.

**** Shipping******* Please note that you may or may not be over charged for shipping.   If you are overcharged, rest assured I will refund the difference.  I am over estimating weight to account for the size of the box which will be roughly 16x16x10.  It is difficult to tell you here, what it will be as each area of the country is separate.  The price should be somewhere between 25-40 dollars, including insurance shipping USPS ground advantage.  If you live on the west coast, the shipping will be the highest as it is furthest away from me.  My shipping calculator does not allow me to allow accuracy for packages over 12 inches, but does adjust for weight.   If you ask me for a shipping quote prior to purchase, I can give you an estimate.  I'm so sorry for the inconvenience.
